Boon is a visual artist from Singapore who goes by the monicker ‘Boon Bakes’. Creating mostly scenes from his imagination and cartoon portraits of himself, his alter ego, ‘The Mata-Kuyu Man’.

A full-time graffiti artist, Boon has contributed to and been invited to numerous events locally, such as the Singapore Street Fest in 2017 and 2018, and the Aliwal Urban Arts Festival in 2020 and 2023. He has also made his mark internationally,  to Meeting of Styles events in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines, as well as Step in the Arena, a prestigious event held in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. His impressive 70m-long mural showcased at Artwalk Little India further serves as a testament to his artistic abilities. In 2021, his artwork titled “The Journey” was featured on the Kampong Glam Hall of Fame, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Through his work, Boon hopes to spread peace and love wherever he goes, using art as a medium to inspire the larger community.
